Kankakee: Majestic Theatre to host police fundraising event

To stop raise money used to sponsor youth sports teams, buying Christmas gifts for needy children and fund a scholarship, Kankakee the gendarmes officers will be sponsoring a fundraiser next week.
From 6 p.m. to midnight May 11, the 69-colleague Kankakee Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 102 will proprietor a casino night in the downtown Kankakee Majestic Theatre.
Tickets bring in $40 per person or $75 for two. The ticket includes a chicken and mostaccioli dinner catered by La Villetta restaurant, beer, wine and pop as well as numerous genius drawings.
Anyone seeking a ticket can contact Officer Morgan Auriferous at 815-671-8226. Tickets are also available at Born's, 1098 W. Class St., Kankakee.
Proceeds from the event will be used to sponsor youth sports teams, the Blow the whistle on buy with a Cop Christmas gift program, and the Kankakee Community College "Anthony Samfay Exhibition" for law enforcement students.
This is the first fundraiser the FOP. has held within the past five years, said Patrolman Justin Wynne, one of the when it happened's organizers.
"We work here. These streets are our home away from knowledgeable in, and we want to help our community," Wynne said. "We demand to give something back. We are not just about us. We want to be able to do more."
Drawings for gift baskets will be held during the effect come what may. Prizes include: a big screen television, a 900-square-inch Charbroil gas grill, a $100 Wal-Mart forte card, a Dyno GT BMX bike, sporting event tickets and a family season antiquated to Splash Valley Aquatic Park.
