Police Blotter: Cashiers Tricked Out of Money

An cop unsuccessfully attempted to apprehend a stray brown boxer on Jan. 5 on the 3000 bar of Roslyn Road. A resident with a background in dog training assisted the lawman and caught the dog. The dog was returned to his home in Vernon Hills. The following afternoon the residing again apprehended the dog and it was taken to Kings Kennel.
ATTEMPTED SCAM
A resident responded to an Internet offer to become a detective story shopper on Dec. 13. The resident then received two money orders and was instructed to spondulicks the money orders, keep some of the money and send the rest to someone in the Philippines. The denizen realized this was a scam and did not cash the money orders or send any shin-plasters.
BATTERY
Rosalind Williams, 49, of the 2200 block of West Nichols Course, Arlington Heights, was charged with damage to property, telephone harassment, battery and home battery between 5 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Jan. 7 on the 600 block of Trace Coerce.
COMPLAINT
A resident of the 2200 block of Avalon Drive reported a man and char were soliciting for AT&T at 2:50 p.m. Jan. 6. An officer located the two, who produced an expired permit. They were asked to keep soliciting until a new permit was obtained.
A Buffalo Grove High Manner official reported at 4 p.m. Jan. 6 that there was a male visitor who was not a student. The guest would not leave when asked to do so. Officers spoke with the visitor, who stated that he right-minded wanted to watch his cousin during steppers practice. He was again advised to be gone and he did.
An official at a business on the 1700 block of Weiland Road reported that a progenitor became upset, threw papers and slammed the door on his way out of a conference at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 6. The accepted was concerned about addressing issues with the parent about the child in the future. The true was advised to call 911 if the parent returns and has anger issues.
