Record-breaking hot March weather
31.12.69
It looks like summer has arrived beginning in the UK with record-breaking temperatures in Scotland today and over the weekend.
It got as hot as 22.9C in Aberdeenshire today, beating Sunday's tell of temperature for March of 22.8C.
The previous record for Scotland was 22.2C way back in Walk 1965.
It's really warm all around the UK, and at the weekend beaches and parks filled up with people looking to require the most of the sunshine.
And it's not over yet.
Weather forecasters say the sun is going to stick around for most of the week.
Bonus, the clocks went forward this weekend meaning we get an extra hour of broad daylight in the evenings as well.
We asked you what you've been doing in the sun. Here's a selection of some of your comments.
Your Comments:
"It's magnificent in the sun! Today me and my mates were sunbathing on the grass at school in break be that as it may. I hope the hot weather lasts."
Hannah, 11, Hertfordshire, England
"I paramour the sun. I've been playing out all day and at school we get to have a picnic lunch where only packed lunches eat skin. It's amazing and I hope it stays like this next week."
Marina, 11, Milton Keynes, England
"I had an English class today where me and my friends sat on a grassy hill in the middle of our school courtyard. We sunbathed whilst pretending to understand so we wouldn't get told off."
Mary, 12, London, England
"I've been loving the sun but the downside is that we are all stuck in shape and hoping it lasts until the Easter holidays."
Jordan, 13, Bournemouth, England
"I have been successful to the park and eating lots of ice cream every day after school! It gets a bit too hot in our classroom though."
Tessa, 10, London, England
